🌝🍂🌾 FRIDAY 5 FAVORITE THINGS: AUGTOBER AIR
Well… Hello! 😳 A few months later… I haven’t shared a blog in so long. The last time I sat down to write, I had just done my first Mashpee Farmer’s Market of the summer season and discovered Zach Bryan’s music. I know, a little late to the party... And it feels like an entire year passed by since July! You’d think I’d have tons to share, but honestly, I just worked all summer (with his early anthology on repeat) and sometimes I think my day-to-day would bore readers.
Then I remember—like the soundtrack to my summer—there’s something comforting in seeing ordinary moments shared. The way an artist lives life between songs on social media sometimes colors the music even more. I find it interesting but still—I waste time that I don't have on social media. I'm sure you can relate. That said, I want Friday Favorites to bring value, even if it’s just a little spark of joy, inspiration, good energy.. however you define it.
This week’s Friday 5 list is all about finding comfort in“Augtober”, — truly my favorite stretch of time when the weather cools just enough for layers, but every once in a while you get one of those long, golden days that that makes you feel like summer is still holding on. I’ll share what I’ve been working on, along with a few of my own everyday moments. Whether you’re here for a cozy rec or just passing through, I hope these posts feel like a breath of fresh air—or in true Cape Cod style, like a breeze off the bay. So, here are five of my favorite cozy things from August-October to add some warmth to this beautiful in-between season we're having!
"Before #1-5, here's a little Lightning Round. A round up of little things that have been sparking joy for me lately. Ok, let's go."
Listening to:November Air - Zach Bryan
Getting: This Hamilton juicer. Years ago, friends sent me one of the best juicers I have ever had from Amazon that was going for like $30 at the time. I juiced that thing into the ground and prices have obviously gone up. This one is still reasonable, just as good and I can vouch for it because I got one for my parents.
Eating: This Swamp Soup recipe by Wishbone Kitchen
Wanting: Everyone here to maintain good physical and mental health this Fall.
Ordering: Ice globes to de-puff my face in the morning. Along with double-cleansing, I was always the biggest skeptic of this hack. I really believed it was just a social media trend but pair em' with a super hydrating serum and these actually work!
Eating: Confetti Waffles by Mira was one of my favorite food finds from the Farmer's Market season. She has a creative menu of waffles, perfect for an easy, on-the-go breakfast. My top pick is her low-carb bacon, egg, and cheese waffle—essentially those hearty ingredients cooked up inside a Belgian waffle maker, then topped with green onion and a spicy aioli.

Wearing: The End Game Pointelle Tank from Free People. SO soft!
Drinking: An Almond Milk Hot Cocoa with a shot of espresso, 1 pump of rose and whipped cream from Old King's Coffee. We love Old King's!!
Wanting: The platform Uggs for massage appointments. This would give me the ability to adjust my height as needed for clients. This is also a subtle hint for my bf. ;)
Loving: Cape Saltie Natural Deodorant Nirvana in all the scents. It changes daily but right now I am wearing Rainbow Tea, Willow and Girl Meets Pearl on rotation.
Drinking: Ginger and Turmeric shots to help with my seasonal allergies.. they have been awful. While I love the warmer Autumn we've been having, this is likely the root cause of it.
Enjoying: A September Red Sox game and Green Monster afterparty.
Hi, I'm Jenna
The blogs you'll find here are inspired by my interests in beauty + wellness which developed from collecting fashion magazines during my newspaper carrying days in elementary school. I later attended Umass Lowell and graduated from FIDM before working for world renowned estheticians and beauty brands in LA & NYC. Today I am a Licensed Massage Therapist with my own boutique practice as well as an e-commerce and Amazon specialist or 3 wonderful companies on Cape. I'm a creative, color-obsessed optimist.

1. A Little Bedtime Upgrade
Let me channel my inner Linus for a moment, okay? My absolute #1 favorite thing right now is this Anthropologie Elysian Gauze blanket, which John got in the color "Sky". I wish I would have shared earlier when it was on sale. Now it’s back to full price and only available in Ivory (lo0o0ove).. so definitely a splurge! The description: "drift into dreams every night" .. I'd say, "a marshmallowy cloud of comfort". Truly the most comfortable bedding ever. Think Restoration Cloud Couch but bedding so if you're dreaming about a new comforter, I would bookmark this one and it will probably go on sale this Holiday. YES, being in bed with this specific blanket is currently my favorite thing and luckily for me, I spend 33.3% of my time there because I make getting 8 hours of sleep an essential.
2. ALL POINTELLE EVERYTHING
Shall we keep the cozy train going? Ok, let's! Living on the Cape, I don’t often get super dressed up, so I like quality basics that feel special—these pointelle tees are exactly that! They’re my go-to this Augtober, soft and easy, perfect for layering under a flannel or pairing with cords. These are my favorites from Free People and you have options: a tank which is great for working out or pajamas, a short sleeve and a long sleeve option too. My tip? Keep them out of the dryer and lay flat to dry instead—they’ll stay cute and won't shrink.
3. ESPRESSO MARTINI
My favorite Augtober meal out so far has been at Bricco in the North End. Their traditional North End vibe paired with a classic espresso martini hit just right! There’s something about a 10/10 cocktail that warms you up. Let’s be real—I’m all about balance; I focus on wellness but definitely know how to enjoy life! Bricco’s espresso martini is deservedly the city's most popular—rich, smooth, frosty, it’s the kind of indulgence I love in moderation. It's Elsa coffee! I also enjoyed my Pappardelle al Cinghiale Wild Boar Braised in Red Wine with Porcini Mushrooms, SO hearty and satisfying for a fall evening. My only regret? Not braving the long line at Modern Pastry for a Rainbow Cookie afterward.
4. MAYFLOWER MARKET DAYS WITH NEW DEODORANT NIRVANA
5. THE ZACH BRYAN RED ROCKS ALBUM
I'll end this blog with carryover from my last, discovering the Zach Bryan Red Rocks concert album. I went down a rabbit hole with it and, honestly, never resurfaced.. on social media, my blog, email. I kept busy working, making product, driving back and forth from appointments all while listening to it. We even thought about having a backyard lawn chair listening party because it’s so good, you want to gather around it. Actually, it’d be perfect on the TV for Friendsgiving.. maybe we’ll go with that! Critics love Bryan for his unfiltered, poetic storytelling and stripped-back sound, and I feel that. His music feels authentic in a way that’s hard to find these days. My favorite songs are November Air, Snow, Revivaland 68 Fastback. Again, I think they all sound their best on the Live from Red Rocks Album.
Now I'm well into a new season and, just as I am sharing, his personal split has been all over the internet. And, albeit messy, I'll admit I find that somewhat interesting too - not because I enjoy seeing anyone suffer - but there's a part of me that was warmed seeing his Ex girlfriend's friends rally around her. It reminded me of my friends in my early 20s. It's almost like a right of passage. Navigating relationships, dating some jerks, learning to pick yourself up—with friends by your side. Poignant and timeless stuff — like the music. Music so good it stands alone so I don't like it any less and, because of the little glimpse that social media gives us, I also like her now too. Anyways.. funny how a single album could sum up an entire season but that was mine. Now off to enjoy more Fall..
Joy, pain & sky,
Jenna
