🎃🍂✨ FRIDAY 5 FAVORITE THINGS: CARVE OUT TIME FOR YOU
Whenever I return to my blog I feel like the genie when he breaks out of the lamp in Aladdin, "Ten thousand years will give you such a crick in the neck!!".. Haha. Writing is just as important as movement to me. If I am not stretching out thoughts and ideas in my mind, I don't feel great. When it comes to mind, body and spirit, stagnation is never a good thing. Well I definitely haven't been sitting still. My work is keeping me going .. and going.. and going then I recently moved so there is a lot of change this Fall. Happy Fall, btw. I'll tell you.. I'm missing out on some of the slow movement I crave like intense, meditative yoga or dance. And there is a lot less time for aimless creativity. That had to go on the back burner in order to maintain my priorities at work and adjust to having an on-demand schedule available to a clientele. This is a welcome change.. being a professional neck crick fixer.. making people feel different when they walk out the door than how they walked in! It's an amazing opportunity I am living and the experiences are teaching me so much. Now I am working towards getting a solid routine down while carving out time, inch-by-inch, for the practices and activities that make me feel vibrant, like my best me. Yes, I want feel "vibrant" so redeveloping my healthy routines as if I am going through some sort of a software update is what I am focused on. All of this week's Favorite Things are centered around that so let's going.. or in this case glowing!
"Before #1-5, here's a little Lightning Round. A round up of little things that have been sparking joy for me lately. Ok, let's go."
Loving: My Sam Edelman Gretchen Boots from last year. As soon as the weather changed, I started wearing these again. They're no longer on Amazon but Walmart has the brown houndstooth version for $30(!!) and I will be getting those too. Are they the most durable, weatherproof boot that you'll have for years to come? Probably not... Are they the cutest to wear with leggings to work or out to run Saturday morning errands? Absolutely.
Ordering: Furniture, catering and party supplies for our "Let's Glow Ghouls" Event.
Eating: French Onion Short Ribs by Half Baked Harvest.. ok it's probably obvious that I am a huge fan of hers and we have all made a ton of her recipes in my family but this one takes the g'damn lavender blackberry cake. K! This recipe is an absolute Fall Slow Cooker Sunday must.
Wanting: A tumbler for water. I've made the decision that I am going to be a Stanley "Adventure Quencher" girl (lol) and I will probably get her in Jade.
Following: Recently, @thepioneerwoman, @traderjoeslist, imranamed, @paigelorenze
Burning: Bedrock Tree Farm Sage Candles .. it's almost time for a restock on site
Eating: Pumpkin Spice Honey Mama's Bars with my coffee. This is not a normal breakfast for me. It's basically eating a brownie for breakfast but, as you may know, I have a sweet tooth and these are a healthy-ish treat. Honey Mama's bars are made using only five whole food, nutrient-rich ingredients (raw honey, cacao powder, coconut oil, Himalayan pink salt, and either sprouted almonds or shredded coconut. That's it!). You can usually find them at Whole Foods or Trader Joe's so look for them in the refrigerated section.
Wearing: Vacationer Blended Essential Oil. This last batch I made was my best ever.
Watchingg: Pain Killer on Netflix. We actually had to shut this off. Generally speaking, I don't like to watch disturbing television and it made me ill to know that, while it's a fictionalized telling of an American crisis, it's a pretty grim reality.
Drinking: Lemon water.. I love a splash of the Santa Cruz pure lemon in my water.
Hi, I'm Jenna
The blogs you'll find here are inspired by my interests in beauty + wellness which developed from collecting fashion magazines during my newspaper carrying days in elementary school. I later attended Umass Lowell and graduated from FIDM before working for world renowned estheticians and beauty brands. Today I am an e-commerce marketer and Amazon specialist for 3 wonderful companies on Cape Cod and newly licensed LMT still studying for my esthetician's license. I'm a curious, color-obsessed creative.

1. TOTAL BODY GLOW AT HOME
There's a handful of wellness practices I want to introduce into my regular rotation. Every Lymph expert I follow speaks of the importance of tongue brushing. Have you ever tried it? It's next on my list. Gratitude, through much practice, comes easily to me but I want to get back into journaling it. Dry Brushing 3x a week is what I am most excited about. That's because we just launched our Lymphatic Massage Detoxifying Gel + All-Natural Bristle Dry Brush — Energizing & Purifying Total Body Glow Treatment. Call it the abridged version of Cape Saltie's In-Studio Total Body Glow Dry Brush treatment. It helps boost circulation, makes skin glow and muscles sing.. it's the the ultimate in herbal body bliss! Having a decongested Lymph System is key to vibrant health. The expansive system, found throughout our bodies, removes waste from our cells while helping to regulate the immune system. When the Lymphatic System becomes stagnant (this can be for a number of reasons... reduced movement, processed foods) we can feel sluggish in our body and mind. People experience soreness, headaches, lackluster skin and so much more. Sometimes we write that off and think it's just a side effect of being on the go (raises hand) but it's not. We are designed to feel vibrant. Yes! Dry Brushing is a simple, easy practice to incorporate into your daily routine to support your Lymphatic system. Our Detoxifying Gel is applied to after to further promote the elimination toxins from environmental pollutants as well as inherent stress-related free radicals as it gently exfoliates and softens skin with beautiful cocktail of detoxifying and skin nourishing herbs.
2. 'LET'S GLOW GHOULS' FALMOUTH HEIGHTS SOAK/SIP/SAVOR/GLOW EVENT
There is so much happening in October. I think one of the days I am looking forward to the most is our Falmouth Heights Event on 10/22… Boo! 🦇🍂✨. It's the first time I have ever hosted an event at our serene lil' bungalow and I can't wait. Here's your (and my) op to give yourself time with your Ghouls 👻 to enjoy a little therapeutic, skin & spirit-brightening bliss. The schedule for this Self Care Sunday (at the most boo-tiful place on Cape Cod) is so good, it’s scary! During this 2 hour event attendees will enjoy a Pumpkin Glow Face Mask + Mini Facial where the entire BACK BAR Skin line by Cape Saltie will be tested and tried in a group Master Class. There's going to be Bubbling Cauldron Foot Soaks & Pumpkin Scrubs. We'll have a special (local) guest lead us in an advanced Energy session designed to promote mental, spiritual and physical health + wellness. And, before leaving feeling better than they came in, attendees will savor Gourmet bites and a non-alcoholic Green Goddess Sparkling Tea Elixir. Tickets 🎟️ available HERE.
3. YOU'RE RIGHT, INSTEAD OF I KNOW ..
If you read the blog normally you know that many of my favorite things are often that - things. Last blog we had #3 be something that was a learning and I want to continue that again. Recently I heard this tip and I thought it was so sensible so I do it whenever I remember. The point is to improve communication with the people who are closest to you.. it could be a family member, co-worker, spouse or close friend. Here it is.. if someone is telling you something you already know, instead of our impulse reaction to "Yea.. yea.. yea!!" or "I know" try saying "You're right!!" .. "Yes, you're right." instead. It is just a simple little switch you can make and it has a profound impact on the person communicating with you. It makes them feel heard and seen. What are other ways we can adapt our communication style so the person on the other end feels like we're listening and seeing their perspective?
4. GRAINGER POTTERY STUDIO
Routine is my top priority right but I cannot undermine the importance of a novel adventure. Did you know that when travel to new surroundings, our brain sends out messages in an attempt to understand our surroundings that create new neural pathways, which connect different parts of the brain? Adventure is healthy! Tell yourself that when you're window shopping Trip Advisor like I have been doing. On Sunday I took a much needed day off from the studio and we made made a rule that we couldn't go anywhere we had been before, except our "regular" morning coffee shop. My favorite stop from the day was Grainger Pottery Studio. This is a small, family owned business that creates handmade, realistic ceramic fish, made to hang on the inside or outside of a home as wall décor. They have a local focus on all of the major New England species, including shells and horseshoe crabs. It's really spectacular and a great visit.
5. BISHOP'S BALLS FOR THE STUDIO
Shopping for flowers for the Falmouth Heights studio never gets old. Sometimes I find something unique and will grab extra for home. I have been loving these Bishop's Balls (or Gomphocarpus physocarpus) from Whole Foods because they add a pop of electric green to the room and feel a little "Freak of Nature"/Halloween.
