🐚🧘♀️🌸 FRIDAY 5 FAVORITE THINGS: READY, SET.. REST!
Hi '25! I cannot believe we’re already here. Christmas was a mad dash—an absolute blur—and honestly, I didn’t love how quickly it all flew by. Anyone else feel the same? We pour so much time and energy into these monumental holidays, and then—poof—they’re gone. At one point, I actually had deliveries stacked to the top of the doorway. It was... a lot. Wait! Wouldn’t it be nice if there were a holiday where we all just slowed down? Like, instead of sprinting through Whole Foods or midnight gift wrapping frenzies, we all just packed our bags and went to Hawaii. Picture this: meditating on the beach, eating pineapple, floating in the ocean—just totally being present. Don’t get me wrong—I’m not the Grinch (could be a mermaid), but the hustle/bustle can feel like Whoville on overdrive.
All that said, my Christmas was still the best ever and truly unforgettable for one very big reason—I got engaged! Yes, with a dreamy ring that looks like a flower you’d find somewhere tropical. So, Happy ‘Ohana’ to us as in “Ohana means family". So as excited as I am for the start of a new year, I want to pause and be grounded in being newly engaged. I recently heard about Tony Robbins’ 6 basic human needs philosophy on one of my favorite pods. He says we have all six but there's usually two primary needs that shape how we live. I think mine have always been certainty and growth. Ergo - having deeper certainty in my own future family brought me a lot of peace *and joy* this Holiday so I didn’t stress about skipping the holiday frenzy onsite this year. I focused on new traditions for my future family. Being in tune with my hierarchy helps me prioritize/be decisive when I get pulled in more than one direction.
Here’s the list of Tony Robbins’ six basic human needs. Take just a moment to consider your top two, it's a worthwhile exercise of self-discovery that brings some clarity and perspective.
𓇼 Certainty: Stability, security, and comfort.
𓇼 Uncertainty/Variety: The spice of life—adventure, surprise, and change.
𓇼 Significance: Feeling valued and unique.
𓇼 Love/Connection: Deep bonds and relationships.
𓇼 Growth: Personal and professional development.
𓇼 Contribution: Giving back, creating meaning, and making an impact.
See there's something to like about freezing, cold January, it can bring a new perspective. Well I could use it because I’m about to plan Christmas (times ten?) along with the rest of 2025. But here’s the thing—I’m actually looking forward to it. Check on me in March though.. Now I feel bright and optimistic because I’ve been putting in the reps on a few foundational habits that are just making life feel a little lighter. This blog leans personal, so come along if you'd like. I’m sharing my go-tos for what I feel is giving me a good start to the year. Practical tools, little feel good items and some self-care rituals that are sticking. Here's my guide to starting a Happy 25.

Listening to:New Perspective and Homesick by Noah Kahan
Enjoying: 20 minutes in the sauna every morning, M-F. It's the one thing I do every day that's a little treat for me.
Missing: My power yoga era. There was a span of time where I religiously went to yoga every day. Since then, I've always felt a little homesick for a space like the one I went to. I recently started a new Facebook group that's all about wellness here on Cape to make more connections like the ones I made in those classes. Please join: Wellness World Cape Cod.
Eating: My "after school snack" always, Granny Smith green apples, Teddy peanut butter, dark chocolate chips and sea salt
Batching: Cape Saltie Natural Deodorant Nirvana in Girl Meets Pearl. The most recent restock has slightly more raspberry and I am obsessed.
Using: The Stardust app to track my monthly cycle and get a sense of when hormone fluctuations occur. I find being on top of this helps give more context to my emotions.
Ordering: Groceries from Whole Foods. The new store now delivers on Cape and this was one of the best Christmas presents ever.
Drinking: Water with a Rainbow Sherbert Liquid IV. This is my favorite of the sugar-free flavors. I just won't drink the amount of water I need to unless there is a little flavor.

Following:@midcapeathleticclub@hippypilgrimgarlicsalt@elevateetiquette.. the etiquette coaches are really good. I think they should teach their tips in grade school.. in addition to much more practical education.
Grateful for: My truck's automatic starter. Brr...
Drinking: My collagen hot cocoa made with Vital Proteins Chocolate Collagen, almond milk, sea salt and a teaspoon of Le Monin Lavender syrup. Making at home to save money.
Wearing: The platform Uggs, thank you Santa!

1. Lavender Notes from Design Works Inc.
Still tired from December, I'm not charging into 2025. My focus is creating calm for others and me too—with tiny, grounding rituals. Big goals are great, but if I don't do the simple daily habits—drinking water, movement, scheduling time to do nothing—I don't feel good, no matter what's accomplished. My little Lavender notebook spotlights what is it simple: top 3 (I make this section about Gratitude), ways to nourish your mind and body, and space to reflect on your mood. It’s not about overhauling your life—it’s about showing up for your health every day. I also got their weekly meal planner and productivity planner. Love em!
2. BATH SOAKS & THE CUTEST TOTE
Sometimes I soak in the tub like it’s a part-time gig —so necessary in the winter. This reminds me of the tote I gifted my sister. She snapped a cute pic with our soak, and we joked she'd make a better model—talk about a career pivot. Anyway, does anyone else love baths this much? I got obsessed with bath soaks during one of the worst jobs of my life. Taking a bath every night felt like the only thing keeping me sane. So I'm a believer.. baths really are more than just muscle relief—they’re therapy. Oh, and that tote? Perfect for gym stuff, work things, snacks...you name it.
3. FLOWERFRUIT VEGAN LIP OIL BALM
Flowerfruit Vegan Lip Oil Balm is a New England winter essential— the biggest and best lip balm out there, I think! Unlike traditional waxy balms, it’s oversized and glides on like a balm, looks like a gloss, and feels like a luxurious lip oil. That’s thanks to its blend of nourishing fruit oils, calendula flower, and mango seed butter. This is its time to shine—dry skin season is here, and these balms deliver. My current faves? Peppermint Tea, Rainbow Milk Tea, and Dunes of the Cape (as seen on Sarah).
