🌊🧖‍♀️🦋 FRIDAY 5 FAVORITE THINGS: SEA YOU IN THE NEW YEAR

January 13, 2023

Share:

How is 2023 treating you so far? Mine is off to a good start. I am busy with several projects at work (including a website design, which is always enjoyable for me) and finishing up my evening hours of Spa Tech. I only have one more Saturday clinic left so book a half-priced facial with me while you can by sending me a DM on Instagram. I can't wait to see who my clients will be in the New Year. It's an exciting chapter and we'll see how it goes. I also *finally* submitted all the paperwork to have my mobile practice inspected and then hopefully approved by the state's board. Recently, someone asked me what was going on in my world to which I answered those few things and said, "and that's really it!" so there is my short & sweet update. Sounds a little boring, tbh, but it keeps me busy and perhaps I just find it boring because I have been immersed in this for so long. You might be interested and I'd be interested to know what's keeping you busy in 2023 so please keep in touch and send me a message.

1. NEW TOUCHLAND PRODUCTS ONSITE

Check out the site today! I mean.. really do a deep dive.. there are over 14 new SKUs including the launch of Touchland Power Mist Hydrating Hand Sanitizers. Touchland was selected because they make hygiene fun, convenient, *chic* & pleasing. Here is a new solution that improves one of the ways you take care of your health and sparks joy. My favorite, Wild Watermelon, literally smells like a Jolly Rancher! I picked up Touchland because I always want to have hand sanitizer on hand for massage & facial appointments. After soap and water, it goes the extra mile. I thought Saltie girls & guys would probably love having these in their back pocket too. I can't wait to see what you think.

Hi, I'm Jenna

The blogs you'll find here are inspired by my interests in beauty + wellness which developed from collecting fashion magazines during my newspaper carrying days in elementary school. I later attended Umass Lowell and graduated from FIDM before working for world renowned estheticians and beauty brands like Sonya Dakar, Smashbox, Tarte & Tata Harper. Today I am an e-commerce marketer and Amazon specialist for 3 wonderful companies on Cape Cod and newly licensed LMT still studying for my esthetician's license. I'm a curious, color-obsessed creative.

2. MY FIRST PAIR OF SPANX, A REVIEW + SARA BLAKELY INSPIRATION

Am I the last person on the planet to try something from Spanx? I just got my first pair of leggings in the mail and couldn't wait to try them on. I loved how my girlfriend styled a pair hers with a sweater so I had to pick up some of my own when they had a 30% off sale. I got the blue velvet (practically black) and was sold on the no front seam bit. They seem to run a little small but, overall, pretty cute. Mind not blown but I do think it's a mind-blowing brand and one that I am happy to spend my money on. Yes, I am happy to send her money in return for a basic pair of leggings. I really like what Sara puts out into the world using her platform! Imagine the messaging or culture that hosiery companies were sharing when panty-house was invented in the 1950s? It looks a lot different now. Now we have a woman like Sara who has a patchwork quilt of a brand that incorporates the importance of trying, failing, persistence, humor, family, individuality, and more trying. She's also a huge Wayne Dyer fan and really invites people into her world to experience her personal motivation. I like Wayne Dyer too. It has been a while since I have listened to him so I am dropping one of his videos below. Sara has said that she has been a beneficiary of his "No Limit Person" teachings so I encourage you to check that out and I will be revisiting that as well soon.

3. PB BOULANGERIE IN WELLFLEET

This is my favorite bakery on Cape Cod! As the French would say, "real French". My mother and I have been doing a little carpooling together on the days where I work out of my company's Provincetown office and we stop at PB either on the way in for morning coffee or to pick up 1/2 priced breads when we're heading home at night. Yes, usually if you go to PB at the end of the day they will have half-priced deliciousness that was made just that morning.

4. SEA YOU SOON, NEW SOLAR SEA SALT BATH SOAK

Here is a sneak peek at the latest Cape Saltie launch. Well, technically it's not brand new because I have done a "Beaches N' Cream" bath soak before but I changed the scent for the restock of this limited-edition, which only comes around in the winter. The inspiration for this soak is bascially a tropical vacation in a packette and, ironically, the new blend smells exactly like mine (vacation, that is) last year and it's not what you would expect at all. I am going to leave you with a little White-Lotus style cliff-hanger to anticipate the drop. You'll sea it soon!

5. DRY BRUSHING & BODY WRAPS WITH DETOXIFYING SEAWEED GEL

Something I have to remember, now that Spa Tech is coming to a close, is how lucky I have been to receive so many treatments as part of my esthetics licensing education there. I was aware of that in pursuit of getting my massage therapy license as well. You get a lot of self care you might not ordinarily get. In my case, I found the effects of receiving regular massage (I am talking 3-4 in a week) so much more palpable. That's not to say the facials don't relax me or give me results. Massage is just truly a wonderful tool for self healing and overall health.  It helped with how I felt emotionally, weight management (I was surprised by that) and exercise recovery as well as exercise encouragement. I think it's a rising tide that lifts all boats! Again, like I said in my New Year's blog, it also reinforces that you are a person that says I take care of myself in a certain way. That's core stuff! Anyhow, lo0o0ong story short, we recently learned the Dry Brushing & Body Wrap protocol that can be incorporated with massage using a detoxifying sea weed gel and I loved this. It would be a great service to have on a spa menu someday. Dry brushing is a treatment used unclogs pores in the exfoliation process and has been known to help detoxify your skin by increasing blood circulation and promoting lymph flow/drainage. And seaweed gel has sea kelp for metabolic stimulation and nutrient rich algae to hydrate and detoxify the body. It's wonderful and was one of my favorite treatments from the last week. It will serve as inspiration in the future. You'll sea. Have a great week. Xx Jenna
