🫧☁️🌊 FRIDAY 5 FAVORITE THINGS: LIFE IS MESSY..
1. CENTERVILLE PIE
This week my co-workers and I picked up a Centerville Pie for my co-worker whose wife was just about to have a boy. Centerville Pie is a local Cape Cod pie shop that was thrust into the spotlight when Oprah named it one of her "Favorite Things". If only this Friday 5 column had such influence. Haha! These frozen pies are delicious and there are lots of great options which I will list in order of my favorites: Taco Pie, Buffalo Chicken, Regular Chicken, Shepherds Pie with Sweet Potato, Thanksgiving... and the list goes on. Life is too busy right now for me to list all the desert flavors. Just try Cherry!! You can get them from several markets here on Cape or buy online. Pie Night is a fun way to host friends or gift one to make life easier for someone experiencing a hectic week. That includes yourself!! I am actually making the Taco one tonight.
Hi, I'm Jenna
The blogs you'll find here are inspired by my interests in beauty + wellness which developed from collecting fashion magazines during my newspaper carrying days in elementary school. I later attended Umass Lowell and graduated from FIDM before working for world renowned estheticians and beauty brands like Sonya Dakar, Smashbox, Tarte & Tata Harper. Today I am an e-commerce marketer and Amazon specialist for 3 wonderful companies on Cape Cod and newly licensed LMT still studying for my esthetician's license. I'm a curious, color-obsessed creative.

Obsessed with: Cape Saltie's new Epsom Salt & Coconut Oil Bath Bomb in Taffy Rose + a LAB Sample for a new skincare facial cleanser I'd love to create. Soon I will be offering a skincare try-me box and this will absolutely be part of it. I am so excited for you all to try.
Listening to: It's Called: Freefall by Rainbow Kitten Surprise... I have been starting all my sessions with this one and it's a nice, contemporary wind down. I don't think every spa song needs to be a babbling brook or soft rainfall.

3. CAPE SALTIE EPSOM SALT & COCONUT OIL BATH BOMBS
I see Mother's Day Gift Guides everywhere and decided not to make one. I like the content but I think the best gifts are the ones that show you're keen to hear what that person appreciates. Who knows best what Mom wants? You! My mom has made it known - loud and clear- that she wants the new Cape Saltie Epsom Salt & Coconut Oil Bath Bombs this year so my work here is done. Nice choice, Mom!! Mom really does know best in this instance because these are my current favorites - especially the Taffy Rose. It smells like spun floral sugar candy! This is also what I would want someone to get me. Haha. If I may interject with just one more corny saying in this blip, I am my Mother's Daughter.. haha. Boehmian Marine, sadly, is already sold out but will be back. Don't sleep on these!
4. NEW ART
Talk about stopping to smell the roses... I journal professionally and personally. I keep my personal journal in the cloud. That's something you might not know about me. I also want to be an art collector someday. There's 2! The pieces I want go hand in hand with my personal journal. I'll see something that connects with what I'm experiencing at the time (big things) and it gives my writing a framework so the pieces are chapters and my stories fills it all in with color. One day I think I will would like to give both, cloud and collection, to children. I think that would be so cool!! Many of us know our family history from like an ancestry.com perspective but not with such great context and thoughtful granularity. I got this piece, my second, almost 7 years later from seeing it the first time. Ironically (very VERY strange) I realized the other day that I sent payment for both pieces either leaving from or heading to Centerville Pie. The last time I had been to their standalone was over 7 years ago right before I wrote a check for my first. STRANGE! This piece is a little strange and it represents time when life life felt messy. Life is messy!! It doesn't always turn out as we expected it to ("It isn't a color within the lines exercise. It's a wild and outrageous invitation.") and there's real value in learning how to put ourselves back together in those instances. That's an idea I'll want to thoughtfully share.
5. LOCATION, LOCATION, LEGALESE..
If my chihuahua, Eddie, is my first baby then that makes a location for Cape Saltie my middle child, like me. Oo0o0oh boy. Buckle up. Already I feel, coupled with the real daily challenges of work and life, that I have grown more in the last couple months than I have in a while. The amount of fine print and liability legalese (thorn) I have consumed makes me want to spend an entire weekend soaking in the tub. That may be in my near future. After what I will call an immersive and intensive education in slip-and-fall hypotheticals with an aspiring underwriter, I felt better getting coffee with my Mom on Saturday morning. Ironically, we ended up in one of the most messy discount stores I have ever stepped foot in. Puddles of dish soap in isles. Boxes blocking isles. A lawsuit waiting to happen. We had to laugh, it was the comedic relief I needed after my brain was filled with a million thoughts and I was glad to have it with my Mom (rose).
Stay tuned for the birthing of this lil zen Bungalow. Xx Jenna
